Hello! I’m Sarah.

A woman with long dark hair and a pink sleeveless top smiling outdoors with green ivy and a window in the background.

I am an occupational therapist (OTD, OTR/L) with experience working with people of all ages in both mental health and physical rehab settings.

Since 2020 I have been a full time Clinical Associate Professor at UW-Madison where I teach students about chronic pain, mental health, physical injuries, and a host of other things.

Beyond professional life, I love spending time with my husband and two children, dancing samba, playing the steel pan, doing crossword puzzles, running, and being outside.

My Story

A woman hiking in a lush green valley with mountains in the background, wearing a yellow backpack and a gray cap hanging from the backpack strap.

I have been in your shoes.

During my 20s, I suffered from seven years of chronic pain. Perhaps as you have, I tried every manual therapy under the sun, including surgery, to no avail.

I thought, “there must be something uniquely wrong with me, and if I just find the right diagnosis, and the right person to relieve the tension in just the right spot, and if I strengthen the right muscles, and eat only anti-inflammatory foods, and breathe correctly, and always be mindful, I will heal the structural damage that must be going on in my body.” Talk about exhausting!

When I finally discovered Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), I realized every approach I had tried was missing the mark entirely. Through PRT, I completely overcame my symptoms. Now, many years later, I never think about the parts of my body that used to hurt – something that was absolutely unfathomable to me at the time.

Overcoming pain has left me in complete awe of the human mind and body. My hope is to give you this experience, so that you can tap into the power within to live unbound.
