Frequently Asked Questions

  • Occupational therapy (OT) is a holistic, evidence-based profession that helps people return to the meaningful activities ("occupations") that make life rich and fulfilling—whether that's completing your morning routine, working, parenting, creating art, connecting with others, or simply moving through your day with ease.

OT is grounded in both neuroscience and mental health. We treat the whole person—body, mind, and environment—not just symptoms. That means looking at how pain, stress, beliefs, habits, and your daily context all interact. Our focus is always on doing—supporting you in getting back to what you love and living with more ease, joy, and engagement.

  • At this time, I do not accept insurance. I offer sessions on a sliding scale using the Green Bottle method as a guide—this allows you to choose a rate that feels accessible and fair based on your current financial circumstances. This approach supports equity and sustainability in healthcare, while honoring your autonomy and well-being. If finances pose a significant barrier, please reach out.

  • Pain Reprocessing Therapy is highly effective not just for chronic pain, but also for other persistent symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety, depression, and much more—especially when these symptoms don’t have a clear structural cause. These symptoms often arise from similar nervous system processes, and thus can be resolved with the same approach. If you're unsure whether your symptoms are a good fit, I offer free consultations to explore this together

  • Recovery timelines are different for everyone. For some, change happens quickly—within weeks or even days. For others, the process takes more time. One of the most important factors is how long it takes to gently reduce fear and other strong emotional reactions associated with your symptoms. Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) helps your brain relearn that your body is safe, and that your pain—while very real—is often being generated by a protective, but overactive nervous system.

  • The NatureLed Approach, developed by Kathleen Lockyer, is a holistic way to support nervous system regulation and pain recovery. While not required for Pain Reprocessing Therapy, nature connection can be a powerful guide and ally in healing.

This approach recognizes that our brains and bodies evolved in deep relationship with nature—and that this connection can offer a sense of safety, regulation, and belonging.

For clients interested in going deeper, we can explore meaningful ways to engage with the natural world in 1:1 sessions. I also offer group sessions outdoors, which combine PRT with NatureLed practices.
